Torrington – John Randall Benoit, 47, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018. Born in Greenwich, CT on January 15, 1971, John was the son of Richard & Debbi (Clark) Benoit. He attended Torrington H.S. & spent most of his life living in Torrington or Andover, NH. John had struggled with addictions since adolescence & fought a very hard battle, but God called him home to relieve his suffering. He was a true Jack-of-all-trades who could do anything, fix anything, build or rebuild anything else he set his mind to accomplish. His athletic abilities were absolutely amazing, especially water sports and downhill skiing. Once he tried to learn a new athletic skill, he always mastered it with amazing prowess! After successfully barefoot skiing on his very first attempt, he was even nicknamed “The Natural” at water ski camp. He also had a wit about him & could bring about a laugh & smile from almost anyone.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his daughters Colby Benoit of Tilton, NH & Lilly Benoit of Lebanon, NH along with their mother, Abigail Alvord; his sister Stephanie Benoit Oliver, her children Garrett, Colin & Riley Oliver & her fiancée Kristine Leonard of Goshen along with aunts Amy McEnaney & Ruth Heyden plus cousins & friends too numerous to list. John was also survived by his beloved friend, Lori Angelicola of Gaylordsville. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Barbara (& John) Miller and Robert Clark plus paternal grandparents Ulric and Bertha (Atwater) Benoit.
