John A. Brady

Torrington- John A. Brady, 90, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Valerie Manor, Torrington. He was the beloved husband of the late Doris (Kruppa) Brady.

        Mr. Brady was born in Winsted on May 6, 1930, son of the late William B. Brady, Jr., and Elizabeth A. (Bassong) Brady, and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. John was a graduate of The Gilbert School, Winsted, and was a former active communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church, Torrington. Mr. Brady was a retired Postal Clerk with the U.S. Postal Service, Winsted Office, retiring with over 30 years of service. John enjoyed word search puzzles.

        Survivors include a son, David J. Brady and his Fiancée, Olivia Weber, of Torrington; a sister, Magdelena Brady of Torrington; two grandchildren, Ashley E. Brady and Matthew D. Brady; three great-grandchildren, Sophie Damis, Bryson Fahey, and Bailey Brady, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Brady was predeceased by his brothers, William, Henry, James, and Edward Brady, and a sister, Elizabeth D’Onofrio.

        Graveside services in St. Peter Cemetery, Torrington, were held privately. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
