Julia Lewandowski, age 86, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, with her loving brother and nephew by her side.
Born on December 2, 1939 in Torrington, Connecticut, Julia was a lifelong resident of the communities she cherished, Torrington and Goshen. She attended local schools and went on to dedicate her entire career as a machine operator with the Torrington Company, where she was known for her strong work ethic and quiet dedication.
Julia had a longstanding connection to Tyler Lake in Goshen, where she spent time as a child and later returned to live. In her final years, she enjoyed the quiet and familiarity of the lake, choosing a simple and peaceful life there.
Julia was deeply guided by her Roman Catholic faith, which was a steady presence throughout her life. She had a special love for animals and, over the years, cared for many beloved dogs and cats who brought her great joy and companionship.
She was predeceased by her parents, Dorothy (Sosnowski) and Stephen Lewandowski; her brother, Thomas Lewandowski; and her lifelong friend, Gertie Schraeder.
Julia is survived by her brother, James Lewandowski; her nephews, Justin and Darren Lewandowski; her uncle, Edward Sosnowski; and her cousins, John, Robert, and Mark Sosnowski.

Julia will be laid to rest in her family’s plot, beside her parents, her brother Thomas, and her dear friend Gertie., who was a life-long friend and like a sister to her.
