Torrington- Karen A. Gardner, 71, passed away Friday, December 2, 2022, at Hartford Hospital.
Karen was born in Torrington on August 27, 1951, daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Capra) Avallone, and had been a lifelong city resident. She was a retired machine operator with the Torrington Company. Karen was an avid Bingo player and loved old movies, word puzzles, and going to concerts in Coe Park.
Survivors include two brothers, Ronald Avallone and his wife, Mary, and Robert Avallone and his wife, Wendy, all of Torrington; a nephew, R.J. Avallone and his wife, Colleen; two nieces, Dawn Avallone and Sara Raap and her husband, Josh; two grand nephews, Emet Avallone and Domenick Raap; and an uncle, Louie Capra, Sr. Karen was predeceased by a niece, Courtney Avallone; and her step-father, Edwin Becker.
Graveside services and burial in New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington, were held privately.
