Kathleen J. (Moore) McKenzie

Torrington- Kathleen J. McKenzie, 66, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023, at Valerie Manor, Torrington. She was the beloved wife of the late Myron R. McKenzie.

        Kathleen was born in South Bend, IN, on January 20, 1957, daughter of the late Robert L. and Beverly J. (Wroblewski) Moore, and had been a Torrington resident for 23 years. Prior to moving to Torrington, she had been a resident of Greer, SC, and Valdese, NC. She was a professional artist, creating many published works of art. Kathleen enjoyed making jewelry, painting, stone carving, exercising, and gardening.

        Survivors include her daughter, Kara J. Centrella and her husband, Brian, of Torrington; a brother, Mike Moore of Westminster, CA; four sisters, Pamela Moore Staples of South Bend, IN, Teresa Catsos of Safety Harbor, FL, Roberta Holtzinger of N. Ft. Mysers, FL, and Cynthia Wroblewski of Spring, FL; step-mother, Marlene Moore, who was like a mother to Kathleen; and several nieces and nephews. Kathleen was predeceased by her son, Austin R. McKenzie.

        Services will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at 11:00a.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00a.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
