Kathleen "Kathy" F. (Murtagh) Anderson

Torrington- Kathleen “Kathy” F. Anderson, 71, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020, at her home while under the care of Hartford Hospital Hospice. She was the beloved wife of George A. Anderson.

          Mrs. Anderson was born in Staten Island, NY, on August 19, 1949, daughter of the late Robert and Frances (Castagna) Murtagh, and had been a Torrington area resident for over 50 years. She had been employed as a Legal Secretary for Thomas F Hogan before her retirement. Kathy was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Torrington, where she served as a Chalice Bearer. She also delivered Communion to homebound parishioners. In her spare time, she enjoyed creating stained glass and jewelry, and flower gardening.

          Survivors, in addition to her husband, George, include two sons, Richard Kobylenski and his wife, Donna, of Torrington, and David Kobylenski and his wife, Linda, of New Britain; three daughters, Julia Hrica and her husband, Kenneth, of Litchfield, Christine Anderson and her husband, Jay Steinberg, of Riverside, IL, and Jeanne Marie Anderson and her partner, Kenneth Reynolds, of Cupertino, CA; two brothers, Robert “Bob” Murtagh of Torrington  and Robert “Johnny” Murtagh of Staten Island, two sisters, Susan and Maureen “Mimi” Murtagh of Morrisville, VT; and several nieces and nephews.

          Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 11:00a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 220 Prospect St., Torrington. Burial will follow in Trinity Episcopal Church Memorial Garden. For those unable to attend in person, services will be live streamed at www.trinity-torrington.org. Those attending the Memorial Services in person are kindly asked to please wear a mask and follow CDC social distancing guidelines. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
