Torrington- Kenneth J. McDonald, Sr., 69, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. He was the beloved husband of Donna J. (Bronson) McDonald.
Kenneth was born in Highland Park, MI, on April 24, 1952, son of the late Arthur E. and Catharine E. (McAllister) McDonald. He was a U.S. National Guard Vietnam Era Veteran. Kenneth was a skilled woodworker by trade and a member of the Carpenter’s Union Local 210. He was a former member of the Winsted Volunteer Fire Department and Northwest Rod and Gun Club. An avid sportsman, Kenneth loved to go hunting and fishing. He enjoyed watching the Yankees and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Donna, include a son, Kenneth J. McDonald, Jr., and his wife, Alisa, of Apex, NC; two grandchildren, Kyle J. McDonald and Annabelle M. McDonald; three brothers, Albert McDonald and his wife, Donna, of Torrington, Matthew McDonald and his wife, Val, of Winsted, and Ted McDonald of Torrington; four sisters, Corine Stewart and her husband, Donald, of Winsted, Emily Palmer of Winsted, Jeannette McDonald of Manchester, NH, and Maureen Girolimon and her husband, Mark, of Torrington; and many nieces and nephews. Kenneth was predeceased by a sister, Yvonne Nash.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 18, 2022, at 7:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Friends may call Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
