Larayne Cobb

Torrington- Larayne Patricia Cobb, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 16, 2023.

        Mrs. Cobb was born in New York City on October 25, 1940, daughter of the late Chester Alden Cobb and Theresa Cancellieri Cobb, and was raised in New York City and Pelham, NY. Larayne graduated from Pelham Memorial High School in 1958.

A dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, Larayne cherished her family. A lover of travel, Larayne enjoyed living abroad in London, England, and Greece before returning to the United States to live in New Rochelle, NY and moved to Torrington more than twenty years ago. No matter where she lived, Larayne was adored by her family and friends.

        Survivors include three children, Karen Siannas of Bethel, Mark Rockmore of Mt. Dora, FL, and Janet Lesce and her husband, Lou, of Fanwood, NJ; a brother, Chester Lee Cobb and his wife, Mary Kay, of Darien; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and three nieces. Larayne was predeceased five years ago by her partner, Dr. Joseph Karp.

        Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 11:00a.m. at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.

        At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
