Torrington- Leonard L. Lucia, 90, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. He was the beloved husband of Regina A. (Malone) Lucia for 68 years.
Leonard was born in Torrington on March 31, 1934, son of the late Anthony W. Lucia, Sr., and Virginia (Wintz) Lucia, and had been a lifelong city resident. He was a U.S. Air Force Cold War Era Veteran and was employed by Ingersoll Rand and the Torrington Company for 25 years, retiring in 1998. Leonard was a communicant of St. Peter Church of St. John Paul the Great Parish, Torrington, and a member of the Sullivan Senior Center. Most of his retirement was spent working around his yard, creating new things and building them for his house, and traveling with his wife in his 32ft trailer.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Regina, include a son, Glenn A. Lucia of Torrington; a daughter, Brenda L. Seitz of Battleboro, VT; two grandchildren, Travis K. Lucia of Westfield, MA, and Karessa Sylvester of AZ; three great-grandchildren, Liam Lucia and Emma Lucia of MA, and Kyra Sylvester of AZ. Mr. Lucia was predeceased by a daughter, Lore Parker; a granddaughter, Kelly Koplar; and two brothers, Anthony Lucia, Jr., and Daniel Lucia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 20, 2024, at 1:00p.m. at St. Peter Church, 107 E. Main St., Torrington. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington, will be held at a later time. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
