Lillian Crovo Obituary

Torrington- Lillian B. Crovo, 101, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026 with her loving family at her side.

Lillian was born in Torrington on May 22, 1924, daughter of the late William and Henrietta (Ossola) Buzzi, and had been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Torrington High School, Class of 1941. She then worked at the State Capitol in Hartford and retired from the State Legislature’s Program Review Committee. Lillian was an avid bridge player throughout her life and spent her older years every Thursday morning playing with her group at the Sullivan Senior Center.

Lil was also a member of the Eastlawn Country Club, where she golfed for many years with the Womens’ League, even scoring a hole in one at hole 6.

Traveling was another passion of hers as she took many trips including to India and Europe, and visiting her family in beautiful Lake Como.

She loved to cook and had her family over every Tuesday evening for dinner, serving one of her Italian specialties, often chicken and polenta.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all of the staff at Valerie Manor where she spent her last six months of her life. Especially Tracy, Rec Director, who always made sure Lillian was at Bingo, and Sean, her compassionate and caring night nurse. Also many thanks to her former daughter-in-law, Sandra Barlok, who stayed at her side until the end. Lillian was under hospice care for a short period of time and the family gives heartfelt thanks to Athena Home Health Hospice and her special nurse, Monica.

Survivors include her children, Richard Crovo of Plymouth, and Jane Crovo Molon of Harwinton; her grandchildren, Alex Molon of Harwinton, Alisha Nadeau of Bristol, and Reuel Crovo of Belmar, NJ; great-grandchildren, Allison, Jack and Anna of Bristol, Nicholas of Miramar Air Base USMC, San Diego Ca,  and Angelina and Victoria of Belmar NJ; and nieces, Claudia De Camilli of Guilford, and Roberta Wilson of Annapolis, MD. Mrs. Crovo was predeceased by a grandson, Benjamin Molon; a brother, Robert Buzzi; and a nephew, Bill Buzzi.

Services will be held privately in the Spring. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
