Lourdes Waters, 50, of Torrington, Connecticut, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Scott Waters.
Lourdes was born in Roma, TX, on March 31, 1974, the daughter of Pedro S. Treviño and the late Maria De Jesus (Garza) Treviño. She was a longtime Texas resident before moving to Torrington.
A patron of the arts and music, Lourdes found beauty in life’s simplest joys. Her favorite sounds were the rain, a cat’s purr, and the laughter of babies—especially that of her nieces and nephews. She was a devoted collector of books, and her library reflected her love of knowledge, stories, and history.
More than anything, Lourdes had a rare gift for leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met. Whether a friend, a barista, or a stranger standing next to her in line, she never parted ways as a stranger. She had the power of connection.
She is survived by her husband, Scott Waters; her son, Ivan Delagarza, his fiancée, Jackie Aguilar, and their daughter, Emilia; and her daughter, Erlantina Luna.
She is also survived by her brother Edgar Treviño, his wife, Mirzha, and their daughter, Natalia; her brother Pedro L. Treviño and his children, Karoleena, Nicholas, and Jasmine; and her brother Juan P. Treviño.
