Margaret "Peg" (Criss) Ivain

Torrington- Margaret L. “Peg” Ivain, 73, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, with her sisters and nieces at her side, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

        Peg was born in Elmira, NY, on March 19, 1948, daughter of the late Wilson G. and Doloris (Seymour) Criss, and had been a Harwinton resident for many years, before retiring to Clearwater, FL, with her close friend, Marj Ashner. She was a retired employee of Walmart and had also worked for the former Stars department store. Peg enjoyed the beach, gardening, knitting, reading, and most of all, spending time with family and friends.

        Survivors include two sons, James W. Ivain and his wife, Karen, of Winsted, and Timothy W. Ivain and his partner, Noel Cronin, of Harwinton; three sisters, Patricia “Pat” Donovan, Marsha Donovan, Kelee Donovan and her husband, Raymond, all of Torrington; three brothers, Steven Criss and his wife, Cynthia, of TN, Wilson J. Criss and his wife, Pattie, of NY, and Michael Criss and his wife, Linda, of Torrington; four grandchildren, James Ivain, Caitlyn Ivain, Zachary Ivain, and Nesio Cronin; and several cherished nieces and nephews.

        Graveside services and burial at Hillside Cemetery, Torrington, will be held privately. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
