Marilyn Duteau Obituary

Torrington- Marilyn J. Duteau, 90, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024, at The Cottages of Litchfield Hills, Torrington. She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald T. Duteau.

        Mrs. Duteau was born in Gardner, MA, on September 26, 1933, daughter of the late Toivo J. and Hazel M. (Hawksworth) Johnson. She had been a Port Orange, FL resident for many years. Marilyn enjoyed staying active, loving to square dance, hike, and camp. She was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church, Daytona Beach, for many years.

        The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at The Cottages of Litchfield Hills and Foothills VNA Hospice, for their compassion shown to Marilyn.

        Survivors include four children, Cynthia Rose and her husband, Mark, of Torrington, Cheryl Marshall and her husband, Nelson, of Jefferson, NH, Stephen Duteau and his wife, Donna, of Selmer, TN, and Thomas Duteau of Jamestown, TN; six grandchildren, Kimberly A. Rose, Amy M. Jensen and her husband, Roger, Richard L. Harmon, III, and his wife, Courtney, Steven J. Duteau and his wife, Heather, Melissa A. Lowell and her husband, Ryan, and Evan N. Duteau; numerous great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter, and nieces, nephews, and cousins in MA and FL.

          A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 11:00a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 837 Charles St., Torrington. For relatives in Florida, a Memorial service will also be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 1:00p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 594 N. Williamson Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL.

        Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org/donate or Hope Lutheran Church, 594 N Williamson Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL 32114
