Marjorie M. (Corey) Cahill

Torrington- Marjorie M. Cahill, 94, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert M. Cahill, Sr.

          Mrs. Cahill was born in Torrington on April 5, 1925, daughter of the late Frank and Albertine (Lambert) Corey, and had been a lifelong city resident. Marjorie graduated from the Danbury School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse for several years. She enjoyed golfing and volunteering at the Sullivan Senior Center. Marjorie loved baking cookies and spending time with family and friends.

          Survivors include a son, Robert M. Cahill, Jr. and his wife Yvonne of Harwinton; two daughters, Patricia A. Cahill of Torrington and Ann M. Higgins and her husband G. John Higgins of VA; a sister, Emily Leffingwell of Torrington; a brother, John Corey and his wife Betty of Harwinton; 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cahill was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Butler and a brother, Frank Corey.

          Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 10:00a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Anthony of Padua Church, 49 South St., Litchfield, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington.
