Torrington- Mary Ann Kufchak, 92, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond J. Kufchak.
Mrs. Kufchak was born in Torrington on March 2, 1930, daughter of the late Jacob Sidlosky, Sr., and Ann (Simonik) Sidlosky, and had been a lifelong Torrington resident. She was a communicant of St. John Paul the Great Parish, Torrington, and had been a longtime communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church, Torrington. Mary Ann was proud of her Slovak heritage and enjoyed cooking Slovak dishes, especially Kolach. Mrs. Kufchak enjoyed walking, the outdoors, animals, trips to the beach, and loved caring for others. She will be remembered for her great love and devotion to her husband and family.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the caregivers and staff at Litchfield Woods Health Care Center, for the compassionate care shown to Mary Ann during her stay.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen Kufchak and Deborah Nicholas, both of Torrington, and Audrey Waldron and her husband, Colton, of Harwinton; three grandchildren, Brooke Nicholas, Chloe Waldron, and Brice Waldron; a brother, Clement Sidlosky and his wife, Penelope, of Torrington; a sister, Elizabeth “Betty” LaGamba of Torrington; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kufchak was predeceased by her brother, Jacob Sidlosky, Jr.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 10:30a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 E. Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30a.m. at the funeral home.
