Matthew Alexander White

Torrington- Matthew Alexander White, 25, passed away suddenly Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Hartford Hospital.

        Matthew was born in Torrington, on May 11, 1999, son of Joan M. (Koplar) White of Torrington and the late Mitchell J. White, and had been a lifelong city resident. He was employed as a mechanical engineer with Bauer Incorporated/Aerospace. He had achieved the rank of Eagle Scout during his time as a Boy Scout of America, as well as donating blood and volunteering for the American Red Cross. Matthew also enjoyed other things, including but not limited to, playing online video games, 3D Printing, and advising to his friends and family about anything they were having trouble with. One of his favorite topics was his obsession with rabbits, where, although he was never able to get one as a pet, he was able to purchase a Rabbit's Foot at a medieval fair, which was another of his favorite topics.

        Survivors, in addition to his mother, Joan, include his brother, Kevin P. White of Torrington; his maternal grandmother, Anna B. (Killiany) Koplar of Torrington; his extended family of John and Susan (Koplar) Walls of Berlin, MD; James and Cathy (Duran) Koplar of Collinsville, CT; Thomas and Barbra (Koplar) Channels of Torrington, CT; Louis and Christine (White) Auletta of Farmington, CT; and several cousins and great cousins.

Some of his most special friends include but are not limited to, Francisco "Fran" Munoz of Tennessee, and Joel Lemieux of Torrington.
The pre-deceased family included the late Alan Koplar; Kathleen Koplar Mabe; Stephen Koplar; Gerri (Lejune) White; and John White.

        Friends may call Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 11, 2024, at 10:00a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 78 Litchfield Rd., Harwinton, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Torrington.
