Torrington- Mitchell J. Keslow, 66, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, surrounded by family at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. Mitch was the notorious local handy man; no matter the break no matter the damage, he could fix anything.
Mitch was born in Torrington on May 26, 1955, son of Jessie (Loschiavo) Keslow of Torrington and the late Mitchell Keslow, and had been a lifelong area resident.
Mitch always had an affinity to sports. At a young age he played in Torrington High School’s football and baseball teams and was a die-hard Giants football and UCONN basketball fan. Mitch spent most of his days working and playing at Eastwood Country Club up on Torringford W Street.
On a nice day, Mitch could be found on the backroads of Connecticut riding his treasured Goldwing alongside one of his younger brothers, Tom. On a bad day (although he would never say that; he loved to watch the storms roll in) he was behind the wheel of his blue chevy pick-up truck helping anyone in need of aid.
Mitch was a devoted and loving father. His favorite hobby was trout fishing, Sandy Brook, with his son Jesse. Some of Mitch’s fondest memories are heading down to Misquamicut for camping, fishing, and hitting up the Casinos along the way with Jesse (son) and Jesse’s friends.
Survivors in addition to his mother, Jessie, include a son, Jesse D. Keslow and his partner, Janine, of Granby; two brothers, Scott Keslow of Colorado and Tom Keslow of Torrington; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 6th, 2022, from Noon – 6pm at Foresters of America, 139 Chestnut Ave, Torrington.
