Norman C. Ashner, Jr.

Torrington- Norman C. Ashner, Jr., 84, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy E. (Warriner) Ashner.

          Mr. Ashner was born in New Britain on January 1, 1936, son of the late Norman C. Ashner, Sr. and Avis (Glover) Ashner, and had been a Norfolk resident for 32 years before moving to Torrington over 10 years ago. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired employee of Ashner Pools. In his early years, he enjoyed ice skating and the outdoors. Norman had a great love for his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved family gatherings and will be remembered for his Thanksgiving turkey carving skill.

          Survivors, in addition to his wife, Dorothy, include two grandchildren; Gregory and Danielle. Mr. Ashner was predeceased by two sons, Steven and Mark; two sisters, Nancy and Avis; and two brothers, Joseph and David.

          Funeral services will be held Friday, February 28, 2020 at 4:00p.m. at Bakerville United Methodist Church, 1087 Litchfield Tpke., New Hartford. Burial in Bakerville Cemetery, New Hartford, will be held on a later date.
