Torrington- Peter A. Bauce, 92, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025, at Valerie Manor, Torrington. He was the beloved husband of 57 years of the late Mildred “Mimi” (Laigle) Bauce.
Mr. Bauce was born in Torrington on August 27, 1932, son of the late Pietro and Silvia (Manfredi) Bauce, and had been a lifelong city resident. He was a U.S. Army Korean Conflict Veteran and a retired construction foreman with C.H. Nickerson and Sons, retiring with 39 years of service. Mr. Bauce was a communicant of St. Peter Church of St. John Paul the Great Parish, Torrington, a member of the Torrington Elks Lodge, the Torrington Country Club, the National Ski Patrol, and a member of IUOE #478. He was an avid golfer, skier, and in his younger years enjoyed hunting and played softball as a fast pitcher on the Foresters Team. His perfectly manicured lawn was the envy of the neighborhood. Pete could fix anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
The Family would like to thank the loving and caring staff at Valerie Manor, for the wonderful care shown to Peter during his stay.
Survivors include a son, Peter D. Bauce; a daughter, Kerry B. Vitali and her husband, John, all of Torrington; two grandchildren, John E. Palmer, Jr., and his wife, Chelsea, and Kaelynn E. Cardenas and her husband, Johnathan; two great-grandchildren, John “Jack” E. Palmer, III, and Lily C. Palmer; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Norma DeMichiel and Amorina Civelli.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 28, 2025, at 11:00a.m. at St. Peter Church, 107 E. Main St., Torrington. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, Peter and Kerry would like you to participate in one of your favorite activities, return home, enjoy a Manhattan or beer with cheese and crackers, and think of Pete.
