Petronella Z. (Zelinskas) Alexander

Torrington- Petronella Z. Alexander, 99, passed away Friday, December 2, 2022, at Keystone Place at Newbury Brook. She was the beloved wife of 39 years of the late Anthony A. Alexander.

        Mrs. Alexander was born in Dayton, OH, on February 8, 1923, daughter of the late George and Frances (Sakalaskas) Zelinskas, and had been a Torrington resident for many years. She was a retired supervisor with Travelers Insurance, retiring with 39 years of service. Mrs. Alexander was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Torrington. She was a member of the Knights of Lithuania, the Sullivan Senior Center, and a volunteer for 19 years with the American Cancer Society.

        Survivors include eight nephews, five nieces, and many great nieces and great nephews. Mrs. Alexander was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.

        Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at 10:30a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m. Entombment will follow in New St. Francis Cemetery Mausoleum, Torrington. Friends may call Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30a.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
