Torrington- Raymond J. Binette, 76, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. He was the beloved husband of Janet (Strand) Binette with whom he shared 55 beautiful years of marriage.
Mr. Binette was born in Hartford on October 30, 1949, son of the late George and Mary (Lewandowski) Binette, and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a retired Lab Technician with the City of Torrington Water Pollution Control Authority. In his retirement he spent many years operating Round-N-Round Antiques with his son, Joseph. Raymond was an avid reader and researcher of natural resources. He loved to investigate the world around him and was passionate about sharing newfound information with family and friends. He was a forward thinker, always innovating and identifying trends years before they arrived. He enjoyed antiquing, and loved walking in nature with his loyal dog, Casper. He was a family man and lived his life valuing the meaning of simple things, long talks on the front porch with friends, coffee with his family, and stacking wood with his grandkids. He always had a treasure in his pocket, his hand, or his heart to share with those he loved. He will be deeply missed.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Janet, include a son, Joseph Binette (Randy Jacquemin); and two daughters, Holly Hawk(Jodi Gentile), and Kara Farina(August Farina), all of Torrington; grandchildren, Michaela McNutt(Kyle Hilliard), Javen Watson, Lexi Hawk, Jared Farina, Aidan Farina, Lavinia Farina, and Dominic Deschenes; a sister, Diane Meda and her husband, Albert; and many nieces and nephews.
