Richard G Bosley

Torrington- Richard G. Bosley, 77, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington after a brief illness.

        Richard was born in Lebanon, NH, on April 16, 1947, son of the late George and Lena (Chapman) Bosley, and had been a Torrington area resident for many years. He was a retired engineer with the Torrington Company, retiring in 2005 with 40 years of service. He always enjoyed discovering new scenic landscapes and admired the beauty of the New England mountains and lakes. He also insisted that anyone who drives south should ride through the Shenandoah Valley. In his younger years, he was an avid boater and enjoyed his times on Lake Champlain and Lake Winnipesaukee with his family, especially his beloved Aunt Laura and Uncle Joe. He was a patriotic American who proudly served his country for three years during the Vietnam conflict, and two years abroad in Vietnam. Although he was a private man, he loved his family, friends, and any who would listen to his boisterous stories. He never did win the lottery or open the umbrella stand on the beaches of Florida, but he will never be forgotten for his deeds and the good he brought.

        Survivors include two sons, Kevin Bosley and his wife, Emily of North Carolina, and Eric Bosley and his wife, Lindsay of Burlington, CT; three grandchildren, Timothy Bosley, Benjamin Bosley, and Abigail Bosley; a brother, Kenneth Bosley and his wife, Cindy; and a niece and nephew, Heather Muhlbaier and Kenneth Bosley, Jr. Mr. Bosley was predeceased by a sister, Pamela Bosley.
