Richard Samal Obituary

Litchfield- Richard C. Samal, 73, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington.

Rich was born in Torrington on March 26, 1948, son of Barbara (Clinton) Drain of Bristol the late Joseph Samal and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Era Veteran and had been the Groundskeeper at Litchfield Country Club. Rich was an avid car enthusiast.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, Barbara, include a sister, Linda J. Reed and her husband, Chester, of Bristol; a nephew, Christian T. Reed and his wife, Tara Garland Reed, of Lakewood, WA; and a grandnephew, Kameron Reed.

Services will be private. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
