Rita N. (Nosti) Celadon

Torrington- Rita N. Celadon, 79, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Hartford Hospital. She was the beloved wife of 57 years of Gino L. Celadon.

            Mrs. Celadon was born in Dover, NJ, on November 26, 1943, daughter of the late Rosendo and Elizabeth (Hegedty) Nosti, and had been a Torrington area resident most of her life. She was a graduate of Wamogo High School, Class of 1961. Rita was a retired purchasing agent with RBC Bearings, having also worked with the Torin and Torrington Companies for many years. She was a communicant of St. Peter Church of St. John Paul the Great Parish, Torrington, and was a member of the Holy Rosary Society. Rita enjoyed cooking, baking, Sunday family dinners, and attending her grandson’s soccer games, never missing a game. Her greatest joy was her family and time spent with them was always cherished.

            Survivors, in addition to her husband, Gino, include a daughter, Cheryl Christiano and her husband, Brian, of Harwinton; a sister, Nancy Nosti of Torrington; two grandsons, Anthony and Peter Christiano; and several nieces and nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 12:00p.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 E. Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00p.m. Burial will be private. Friends may call Monday, March 20, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
