Robert B Baccei

Torrington- Robert B. Baccei, 86, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at his home after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of 66 years of Gloria (Sunseri) Baccei.

        Mr. Baccei was born in Torrington on July 24, 1938, son of the late Charles and Dorothy (Wilson) Baccei, and had been a lifelong city resident. He was a U.S. Veteran and retired Letter Carrier with the United States Postal Service, retiring with 37 years of service. Mr. Baccei loved reading, golf, taking vacations to Cape Cod, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.

        Survivors, in addition to his wife, Gloria, include two children, Keith Baccei and his wife, Cheryl, of Torrington, and Susan Baccei and her husband, Ronald Racela, of Latham, NY; and five grandchildren, Kiersten Mendrysa, Alexandra Racela, Gregory Racela, Karlyn Racela, and Eric Baccei.

        Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 10:30a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 E. Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Monday, January 20, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00p.m., and Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 10:30am at the funeral home.
