Roberta M. (Shuihik) Demetri

Goshen- Roberta M. Demetri, 86, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. She was the beloved wife of Phillip M. Demetri.

        Mrs. Demetri was born in Waterbury on May 20, 1936, daughter of the late Danny and Helen (Nester) Shuihik, and had been a Cornwall Bridge resident for 35 years before moving to Goshen 13 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Bridget’s Church, Cornwall Bridge. Mrs. Demetri worked at the Housatonic Meadows Fly Shop for many years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, baking, and fishing.

        Survivors, in addition to her husband, Phillip, include a son, Phillip M. Demetri, Jr., and his wife, Eleni, of Harwinton; two daughters, Darlene M. Demetri of Goshen and Sharon M. Chiarito and her husband, Louis, of New Milford; seven grandchildren, and two nephews.

        Funeral services and burial in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington, will be held privately. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
