Samuel Joseph Cataldo

Torrington- Samuel Joseph Cataldo, 86, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Hartford Hospital.

Samuel was born in Torrington on July 11, 1939, son of the late Michael and Florence (Carey) Cataldo, and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a member of the Torrington Elks and Torrington Ski Club, enjoyed staying active by riding his bike, taking walks, and weight lifting.

He was predeceased by his life partner, Jane (Patnode) Pelizzari of Torrington. He is survived by his two children from his marriage to the late Nancy (Round) Catldo of Torrington, Cheryl Cataldo of Melbourne, FL, and Gregory Cataldo of Torrington and his grandchildren Michael Cataldo of Melbourne, FL, and Wednesday (Webb) Buyak and India Webb of Torrington, along with several great and great-great-grandsons.

There are no calling hours. Services and burial in New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington, will be held in the Spring at the convenience of the family. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
