Torrington-Silvio V. Scotti, 91, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024, at Valerie Manor Nursing Home, Torrington. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn (Cocozza) Scotti.
Mr. Scotti was born in Brooklyn, NY, on April 10, 1932, son of the late Sam Amato, step-father and mother, Emanuella (DiStefano) Amato. Silvio had been a New York resident most of his life, before moving to Connecticut in 1996. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, 28 years in the Naval Reserve and a retired Police Officer with the New York City Police Department, retiring with many years of service.

Survivors from Silvio's previous marriage, include a son, Louis Scotti and his wife, Noriko, of New Jersey; two daughters, Joella Deliberto and her husband, Richard, of Yorktown Heights, NY, and AnnMarie Scotti-Poropat and her husband, John of Merrick, NY; and step-children, Jayson Baker, Christa, and Corey and Paul Baker and Ayerland. Silvio is survived by five grandchildren, Jessica, Michael, Tara, Massimo, Luciana and; 3 great-grandchildren, Emma, Quinn and Cormac and several cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, January 26, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. and Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 1:00 to 3:00p.m. and 5:00 to 7:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Burial in Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, will be held privately in the Spring.
