Stanley J. Zalewski

Torrington- Stanley J. Zalewski, 93, passed away Friday, April 29, 2022, at his home. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Garner) Zalewski.

        Mr. Zalewski was born in Holyoke, MA, on August 19, 1928, son of the late Sczepan and Tekla (Sorotowicz) Zalewski, and had been a Torrington resident for over 50 years. Stanley was a U.S. Army Korean Conflict Veteran. He was a retired Plant Manager with Mayville Business Forms, retiring with over 15 years of service. Mr. Zalewski was a lifetime member of the American Legion and loved fly fishing at his favorite spots, the Quabbin Reservoir and on the Miramichi River in New Brunswick, Canada.

        Survivors, in addition to his wife, Joan, include a daughter, Susan Sherman of Torrington; a granddaughter, Stephanie Carbonneau and her husband, James, of Stafford Springs; two great grandchildren, Jackson and Jameson Carbonneau; a sister, Ann Veilleux and her husband, Bob, of Chicopee, MA; and many nieces and nephews. 1 of 13 children, Stanley was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters.

        A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 11:00a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington. Full Military Honors will follow the Mass.
