Torrington- Susan Elizabeth Sherman, 58, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at her home. She was the beloved partner of Donald Hall.
Susan was born in Hartford on September 30, 1966, daughter of Joan E. (Garner) Zalewski, of Torrington, and the late Stanley J. Zalewski, and had been a lifelong area resident. In her earlier years she was a Paralegal and later started a second career as a Chef Assistant at Sur La Table in Canton. She was a devoted grandmother, lovingly referred to as Babci, who spent the majority of her time thinking of and talking about her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking (especially pierogi), reading, and watching crime shows.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, Joan, and partner, Donald, include a daughter, Stephanie Carbonneau and her husband, James of Stafford Springs; grandsons, Jackson and Jameson Carbonneau; stepdaughters, Tori Peters-Hall and her companion, John, their children, Raven and Jonathan; and Vaughn Hall.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 23, 2025, at 11:30a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00p.m. Friends may call Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:30a.m. at the funeral home.
