Torrington- William E. Sachweh, 89, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023, at his home. He was the beloved husband of 58 years of Martha M. (Deranleau) Sachweh.
Mr. Sachweh was born in Torrington on October 28, 1933, son of the late William and Olga (Riese) Sachweh, and had been a lifelong city resident. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired inspector, working in the manufacturing industry. He was a member of the Bakerville United Methodist Church and a member of Tresdias. Mr. Sachweh enjoyed model ship building and was an avid UCONN Women’s Basketball fan. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, especially attending their sporting events.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Martha, include three daughters, Claire L. Pepper and her husband, James, of Torrington, Johanna M. Pepper and her husband, Timothy, of Spotsylvania VA, and Christel M. Doyle and her husband, Sean, of Torrington; eight grandchildren, Joshua Pepper, Lance Pepper and his fiancée, Emily Babcock, Amanda Pepper, Luke Pepper and his Fiancée, Katelyn Shields, Josiah Pepper and his wife, Madison, Mariah Doyle, and Sierra Doyle; and two great-granddaughters, Brooklyn Pepper and Liara Pepper.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 11:00a.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Saturday morning from 9:00a.m. until the time of services.
