Waterbury- Anna Adkins, 85, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Milton H. Adkins.
Mrs. Adkins was born in Cleveland, OH, on May 31, 1932, daughter of the late Thomas and Anna (Matava) Waligursky, and had been a Waterbury resident for 55 years. She was a retired tool and die inspector with Isles Manufacturing. Mrs. Adkins was a communicant of St. Pius X Church, Wolcott, a member of the Wolcott Senior Center, enjoyed cooking, reading, spending time with her family and friends, and was very devout to her Catholic faith.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Adkins and his wife Corinne of Southbury, and David Adkins and his wife Rose of Bremen, ME; two daughters, Linda Church and her husband Thomas of Spotsylvania, VA, and Kathleen Cyr and her husband Steve of Lowell, VT; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. “She taught all of us that kindness and forgiving was what God wanted for all his children.”
Anna was loved by all. Her laugh would bring joy to all. She was known for her constant thoughtfulness and selfless giving. Always looking out for others. Loved to send cards to everyone just to brighten their days. She loved to play cards with friends and family. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with the Lord praying and saying the rosary. Anna loved to sing the Lord praises in church.
Her favorites were Ave Maria and Amazing Grace.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 10:30a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 116 Grove St., Torrington. Burial will follow in New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington.
