Sandra J. (Meyer) Kess

Torrington- Sandra J. Kess, 81, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Hartford Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Michael F. Kess.

        Mrs. Kess was born in Torrington on March 18, 1936, daughter of the late Peter and Alice (Weber) Meyer, and had been a lifelong city resident. She was a retired employee with the Torrington Company, working in order entry, retiring with 25 years of service. Mrs. Kess was a lifelong communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church, was an avid UConn Girls sports fan, enjoyed golfing, reading, her dogs, and was a talented gardener.

        Survivors, in addition to her husband Michael, include a brother, Fred Meyer of Sisters, OR.

        Funeral services and burial will be private.

        At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
