it's taken a while to think, But I want to say to all of my mothers friends I'm sorry for the loss of her, I know my mother thought very highly of her fellow poet's, writers, artist and musician friends. You all helped make her the strong person she was, Also she had longtime high school friend who will miss her. I know Jack will miss her, As for myself I never felt close to her growing up but I tried to do my best to bridge that gap I know she appreciated the call's and card's and for some strange reason we always had this connection I knew when she was going to call and she knew when I was. Everyone says she's in a better place but I know my mother thought like I did the movie is over the credits roll and that's that. The better place is for those of us who had to watch her not be able to do thing's she used to do it's not a good feeling when there is nothing you can do to help. While I am sad to see her go, When I saw her at Jacks retirement /70th BD party I knew it wouldn't be long I always know somehow before things will happen, I just didn't think it would be less than a month after. my brothers Jack and the family will get through this together that's what family's do.

Dear Jack, just checked this website for another friend's mother and saw that Jeanne had passed away. I am so sorry that I did not see it sooner. I shall remember both of you in my prayers!

Lea, thank you for your kind words. I, too, apologize for this late response; I am just now getting around to reading the outpouring of sympathy on this obit guest book. There will be a memorial celebration of Jean's life on April 23, 2017, at Litchfield Community Center, where, as you may recall, Jean taught writing for years. (You were at one of the events.) I hope you can come. Email me for details.

Jack and Family,

Today I realized that I will miss my neighbor and good friend, Jean. I will miss our backyard chats, email updates and many conversations. I will miss how she would stay in touch and ask how I was doing, always keeping me in her thoughts--her genuine concern. I will miss news of her sons, daughter-in-laws and her grandchildren through the years --her glow each time she shared the news. I will miss her sense of humor that she and Jack would always share--her laughter up lifting. I will miss hearing about her journey--the wisdom she shared. I will miss her expressions of love and gratitude to Jack--her appreciation. ..........and here an expression of sympathy I have read so fitting to Jack;

You were her angel,
-- -and now she is yours!

Love, light and healing,

Barbara🌠

Jean was one of the founding members of The Litchfield Writers Guild. Before that she held Writer's Work seminars for local budding writers until the end of 2002. The work she did to prime the writers who started the Guild without doubt led to its continuing existence today. Rest in peace, Jean. We shall not forget you, ever.

Jack and family - my heart goes out to each of you. I began my writing odyssey with Jack and Jean, and Jean's soft voice will ever be in heart when I read her poems. I attended many of her readings that seemed to massage and somehow assuage pain.

In our lives we have the privilege of knowing and loving people that helped to enlighten ours. Jean was that light for me, and through her poetry it will be lit for all of my remaining years. Blessings, Jack, your support and encouragement was a testimony to God's love.
