Miriam Podos, age 90, passed away peacefully on August 27 in Canton, Connecticut.  She was the beloved wife for 60 years, of the late Bernard Podos.   Born in Yorkville, New York on December 01, 1924, she was the daughter of Louis and Bertha (Kaslovsky) Manger.  Upon graduation from high school, she worked as an attorney's secretary and then as an accountant's bookkeeper.  Later in life, she worked as the secretary for her husband who was trucking manager at Steven's Ford in Milford, CT.   She was a past President of the PTA in Milford.  While serving as President, she volunteered her time in the Milford School system presenting a program entitled "Dolls for Democracy", which taught ethnic and religious tolerance to public school children.   She taught Sunday school at Temple B'nai Shalom in Milford, served as President of B'nai Brith for Women, was a member of Hadassah, and represented the Jewish community as a member of the Brotherhood in Action, an organization designed to promote religious tolerance.

A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law Pamela and Byron Little of Minnesota, her sons and daughters-in-law Byron and Marie Podos, and Brandon and Linda Podos of Connecticut, along with four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 30 at 10:00AM at the Sons of Jacob Cemetery on Winsted Rd. in Torrington, CT.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Miriam's memory may be made to Beth El Synagogue, 124 Litchfield St. Torrington, CT.  May her memory be a source of strength and a blessing
